West Grants a New Lease of Life to the Arab Dictators Club

Alright; we’ll Aram you-But only if you promise Not to shoot any of us. After all, we’re just the good guys who buy your oil. These should only be used to kill your brothers, who got their guns from the Good guys who buy your oil

Libya is the country which is made of tribes from Libyan Deserts. Only the haughty among them may come up to rule. This is centuries old tradition which is duly accepted among all the tribes. Moammar Ghadafi as a Libyan leader belongs to Ghadafa tribe enjoys the support of the most influential and dominant Libyan tribe located in the centre of Libya called; Magrahia. Outside Libya one may call this arrangement anything but realistically speaking; Ghadafi has been ruling Libya not as dictator but as a powerful tribal leader as per the Libyan deserts tribal norms and traditions.

I bear repeating that in the wake of popular uprising; Libyan leader and the system of governance evolved in Libya, has made Libya a scapegoat as the Libyan never accepted  the western dictations to become a subservient member of western designed–‘The Arab Dictators club’. Most of the Arab leaders are western installed and stay in power with western support. Ever since Ghadafi took the rein; Libya has remained out of this club. Many a times the man has been flogged and coerced to stay behind in line but for his defiance Ghadafi was earlier even called; a mad dog of Middle East by US president Regan.

Most of the oil is produced in Eastern part of Libya and reportedly, the tribes in the east have long stayed in opposition of Ghadafi rein and have been under exploitation by the foreign subversive forces including Al Qaeda. In the wake of present day popular uprising in Arab land; Ghadafi is seen as an easy target for the opposition and the outside world having interest in oil rich Eastern Libya for exploitation and to single him out and malign. Ghadafi felt it necessary to make certain moves to suppress the uprising and thwart the disintegration of Libya.

Lately; the UN Resolution 1973 concocted against the right of Libya to suppress anti government riots has plunged Libya into a bloody civil war where armed forces employed in the eastern Libya around Benghazi were instigated to rebel rouse and most of them have defected Libyan military to join the opposition. The western instigation has put brothers pitched against brothers. Opposition in Benghazi called National Interim council has got the defecting military persons in her fold and is supported by the NATO maintaining a no fly zone in Libya. With the connivance of NATO forces; National interim council is all out to grab and secure as many oil terminals along Libyan coast as they can.

The present fluid situation has put the pro Ghadafi forces into defensive positions. NATO forces are trying to arm the rebels but in the presence of reported Al Qaeda among rebels; arming the rebels’ means arming Al Qaeda which may be a hard pill for the NATO to swallow. Especially for UK and France; they are maintaining a leading role in war in Libya and may not be able to justify their actions easily.

Reportedly US is also employing numbers of covert CIA operations; that how quickly Ghadafi may be ousted and personals of their own choice be installed in Libya and new Libya head by western supported National Council is made a member of US backed greater ‘Arab Dictators Club’.

Ironically; the popular uprising to bring about a change in the dictatorial regimes imposed on Arab oppressed masses is seen tactfully hijacked by western designs. The Jasmine revolution in the face of Libyan war seems to have gone in the back grounds. All the member regimes of the Arab Dictators Club; Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemen the princely UAE states, Syria and monarch in the north Africa  must be having a sigh of relief for having granted a new lease of life.
